Did you know?
*That Forbes Magazine ranks Tucson in the Top 10 cities for violent crime? That Sperling’s “Best Places” ranks Tucson dead last?
*The FBI ranks Tucson 7 out of 10 (10 is the worst, and 3 is the average)?
*That Children’s Health Magazine ranks Tucson 73 of 100 (1 being the best) for worst cities due to high crime and poor education? TPD dismantled its School Resource Officers program in ’08 and redeployed them back to patrol to assist with 911 calls.
*That a 2009 study from the CQ Firm out of D.C. declared Tucson the most dangerous city in Arizona and that you are more likey to be a victim of a violent crime in Tucson than in Phoenix?
*That in 2008 Tucson suffered 72 homicides, shattering the previous record? TPD also had an officer killed, two officers shot, one officer severly stabbed, several officers shot at, and over a hundred officers victims of aggravated assault.
*That TPD has less officers working the streets taking 9-1-1 calls than they did in 1998 and that TPD takes over 400,000 9-1-1 calls every year, which is about 1,100 calls a day?
