Well now that we agree that TPD has a staffing issue, would anyone care to take a guess as to why???

It’s hardly because we can't hire enough people, but more so that we can't keep the experienced officers we already have.

The City of Tucson's failure to compensate its police officers adequately in over 5 years, has caused an unprecedented number to leave for better paying agencies both locally and throughout the state.

The city would like everyone to think that it's going to correct the problems the citizens are experiencing, simply by hiring more police officers.

I will tell you that this is just not the case. If the city is unable to come up with a way to properly compensate its officers, then we will continue to lose people at a rate much higher than what we can hire.
